China Telecom Will Launch VoLTE Officially in 2017

China Telecom has announced Research Report on Satisfying Degree of esurfing Terminal and Terminal Quality Report last week. Shen Shaoai, deputy general manager of Technology Department of China Telecom, described mobile network and terminal technical validation and pre-commercial plan of the company in detail.
 
According to Shen, China Telecom has launched dual-CA on "B1 (2100MHz) + B3 (1800MHz)" and will conduct laboratory validation of dual-CA on "B1/B3 + B5 (800MHz)" & triple-CA on "B1+B3+B5", which is a main task for the operator in 2016. The company also pays great attention to TDD & FDD tests via mixed-CA.
 
In addition, it will conduct Band5 field tests in advance of the trial rollouts, VoLTE trials among friendly subscribers and VoWiFi field tests this year. China Telecom aims to complete uplink dual-CA tests, launch Band5 and implement the pre-commercial and rollout plan of VoLTE & VoWiFi in 2017.
 
With lab validation of DL 256QAM and UL 64 QAM finished, China Telecom plans to carry out tests on DL4+MIMO & DC (Dual Connections), live tests on DL 256QAM and UL 64QAM in 2017. The operator will support LTE/W/G and B1/B3/B5 bands with AMR-WB as default speech coding, EVS recommended one andH.264 as video coding matched with 3.0 CBP. It also strives to realize seamless handover of VoLTE & VoWiFi based on ePDG. And it will be supportive of "B5" and dual-CA on "B1+B3/B1+B5/B3+B5" as well as triple-CA on "B1+B3+B5".
