Recently, the international standard IEC 61196-1-102:2025, "Coaxial communication cables-Part 1-102: Electrical test methods-Test for insulation resistance of cable dielectric", jointly developed by Jiangsu Hengtong Cable Technology Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Hengtong Group, and the 23rd Research Institute of China Electronics Science, has been officially released.
The standard is the seventh IEC standard developed based on the OSD (Online Standard Development) platform since the IEC implemented the full development of standards on January 1, 2025, and also the first publication developed based on the OSD platform by IEC/TC46. The standard in detail the test methods for insulation resistance of communication cables. It is of great significance to ensure the electrical safety of communication systems in various application scenarios, such as 5G communication data centers, where the quality of signal transmission is extremely high.
