Hengtong, in consortium, has secured the EPCI contract for the Liaoning Huadian Dandong Donggang Phase I Offshore Wind project, featuring 500kV HVDC XLPE transmission technology.
A total of over 120 km of submarine cables, engineered to evacuate 2GW from the offshore converter station to shore as a system, will enable efficient, long-distance delivery of clean energy from the 84 wind turbines installed in Phase I, which will generate 1GW in its initial stage.
Scope: Full EPCI delivery, including cable supply, cable laying, and wind turbine installation.
This project sets new benchmarks in scale, complexity, and execution, reinforcing China’s accelerating commitment to decarbonisation and sustainable development, with HVDC technology enabling grid expansion and offshore integration.
