On the morning of September 8, 2016, PT Yangtze Optical Fibre Indonesia (hereinafter referred to as “YOFC Indonesia”) grandly held its opening ceremony in Karawang, West Java Province, Indonesia. YOFC Indonesia is the first overseas joint venture project foroptical fibre manufacturing of Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company (hereinafter referred to as “YOFC”, stock code: 6869.HK), co-established by YOFC and Indonesia PT MONAS on January 19, 2015; YOFC holds 70% of its shares and PT MONAS holds 30% of its shares. Since its establishment, the project has completed the construction of optical fibre plant, equipment installation and debugging in less than 12 months and has been put into operation in advance.

Vice minister Mr. Putu gave a keynote speech on behalf of Indonesia government, speaking highly of YOFC investment in Indonesia and hoping that YOFC Indonesia can contribute more to Indonesia economy and communication. President Zhuang also gave an important speech on behalf of the company, expressing his thanks to Indonesia government and local shareholders for their great support in the construction of YOFC Indonesia, affirming hard work and achievements of YOFC Indonesia team and making an important instruction for future development direction of YOFC in Indonesia. General manager of TelkomIndonesia AKSES Mr. Warif gave a speech on behalf of TelkomIndonesia, hoping that YOFC wouldplay a more important role in Indonesia FTTH strategy. Representative of Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd. Mr. Kenji also came to the ceremony to present his opening gift to YOFC Indonesia.
In recent years, Indonesia government has gradually increased investment into communication infrastructures. YOFC Indonesia, as the only optical fibre manufacturer in Indonesia and even in Southeast Asia, has won an advantage and initiative in Indonesia market, and the opening of YOFC Indonesia is also another milestone for the international strategy of YOFC.
