Shenzhen, China, September 10, 2025 – Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd. (NASDAQ: CRDO, a technology innovation company that provides secure, reliable, and high-speed connectivity solutions, today officially launched its high-performance, low-power Bluebird Digital Signal Processor (SP) for 1.6 Tbps optical modules. This breakthrough technology enables high-energy-efficiency single-channel 224 Gbps PAM4 data transmission, crucial support for unlocking the powerful computing power of the industry's most advanced GPU chips.

The next generation of AI networks demands more stringent and extreme requirements for network bandwidth, latency, reliability, and energy efficiency. Many of the existing .6T optical modules have issues with excessive power consumption, leading to challenges in cooling and power supply during deployment, which limits the widespread adoption of 1.6T technology. address these challenges, Credo’s Bluebird DSP, featuring advanced CMOS process and Credo’s patented technologies, achieves industry-leading energy efficiency, with an overall consumption well below 20W for the 1.6T optical module. Chris Collins, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Credo Photonics, said “Bluebird 1.6T optical DSP is meticulously designed for greater flexibility beyond existing solutions to support a broader range of applications. This landmark achievement once again demonstrates our to pushing the boundaries of innovation in the optical communications industry – to deliver unmatched performance and energy efficiency for our optical module partners and create lasting value.

Bluebird supports both 4-channel and 8-channel 224 Gbps PAM4 configurations, enabling both-density 800G transmission and larger capacity 1.6T optical modules; moreover, Bluebird is available in two versions: full-function DSP and linear optical module (LRO), comprehensively covering the diverse network architecture needs such as scale-up and scale-out. To break through the GPU inter-communication bottleneck the design architecture of Bluebird is meticulously optimized, with both round-trip unidirectional latency controlled within 40ns. This ultra-low latency significantly enhances the computing and performance of the Large Language Model (LLM) training and inference process. Bluebird is also equipped with a full set of telemetry functions, which support real-time monitoring diagnostics of the link, maximizing the system's uptime and reliability; the above functions can also be used for fault isolation, debugging, and mass production testing. To optical module system integration, optical device selection, and interoperability testing with the host ASIC, both the electrical and optical ports of Bluebird DSP are equipped with a full of deeply customized performance optimization function suites, which can be flexibly enabled or disabled according to the actual environment, for example: performance optimization functions can be enabled in harsh environments to link margin; this function can be closed in high-density clusters to reduce power consumption. Optional IEEE standard-compliant inner/outer forward error correction (FEC) functions are to support fiber optic transmission of 500 m, 2 km, and beyond, allowing customers to flexibly adapt to different application scenarios based on a single design. Bluebird DSP is now open for orders. For more information, please contact your local Credo sales representative.
