Recently, the 15th Chinese Arctic scientific expedition team has successfully completed the polar demonstration application of China's independently developed first set of fullsea-depth trace metal CTD winch system "Haiwei CTD11000" in the Arctic Ocean, fully verifying the stability and reliability of domestic deep-sea winch systems in the polar environment. This achievement also embodies the positive contribution of Jiangsu Hengtong Huahai Technology Co., Ltd. (hereina referred to as Hengtong Huahai), a subsidiary of Hengtong Optoelectronics, in the field of core technology and key equipment.
The project "Research and Development of All-Sea-Depth Optical Cable Winch System and All-Sea-Depth CTD Win System and Demonstration Application" is a key project in the "14th Five-Year Plan" National Key Research and Development Program "Key Technologies and Equipment for Deep Sea and Regions". Hengtong Huahai, as one of the leading units of this project, has completed the project through joint research and development. The polar demonstration of "Haiwei CTD11000" is an important achievement of this key special project. In this demonstration application, the world's first 1,000-meter non-metallic armor CTD cable and components independently developed by Hengtong Huahai were successfully loaded on the "Haiwei C11000" system, and they worked in coordination with the main winch to complete the verification of polar operations. This non-metallic armor CTD product adoptsethylene fiber braiding reinforcement technology, which has significant advantages such as light weight, small bending radius, and strong anti-interference ability compared with traditional metal armor products. fundamentally solves the industry pain points that traditional metal armor CTD can not meet the requirements of trace element clean sampling, etc. It is another major breakthrough of Hengtong Huai in the field of deep-sea CTD technology.
Meanwhile, the only 13,000-meter non-metallic armored optical product and components in the world, by Hengtong Huahai with technologies such as aramid fiber armored reinforcement, has also been successfully installed on the "Haiwei GD1100" system and completed the polar demonstration application in this Arctic scientific expedition. As the core equipment of the scientific research vessel, the deep-sea and polar scientific research winch undertakes the key tasks of lifting and recovering survey instruments. The extreme working environment such as low temperature and floating ice in the Arctic region poses extremely high challenges to the performance of thech system. The successful application of "Haiwei CTD11000" and "Haiwei GD11000" in this Arctic scientific expedition a precise match for this high-end demand. Professor Li Wenhua, the person in charge of the on-site scientific expedition, said that the polar demonstration of "Haiwei CTD11000" and "Haiwei GD11000", which were completed by relying on the "Xuel 2" and "Polar" polar scientific research icebreakers respectively, has fully validated the polar operational capability of the domestic deep-sea winch system. The successful application the system will provide a solid technical guarantee and equipment support for the development of China's marine scientific research towards the deep sea and polar regions.
