China Telecom's new platform is designed to support the nation's One Belt One Road strategy, which is focused on promoting improving cooperation and connectivity across Eurasian countries.

Magnus Rahm, head of Global Service Operations, Ericsson, commented: "The IoT market is growing very rapidly and we aim to use our expertise in this area to help our customers capitalise on this opportunity. Together with China Telecom, we can play a key role in realising the tremendous potential of the IoT by reinventing processes, creating new services, and capturing new revenue."

Launched back in 2012, Ericsson's Device Connection Platform is designed to support IoT environments and their respective connections.

Utilised by more than 25 operators and over 2,000 customers globally, Ericsson's platform is further supported by its partnerships with Bridge Alliance and the Global M2M Association, which deliver global coverage and seamless integration with various IoT applications.
