AT&T CEO John Stankey said the company’s investments in 5G and fiber connectivity have been fueling their growth.

Telecommunications giant AT&T reported a strong third quarter, with revenues of over $30 billion, as the company posted its strongest historical showing for mobility service revenue and announced hundreds of thousands of new fiber net adds.

In total, over 8 million customers are now AT&T fiber subscribers, according to AT&T, which said that number reflects the company’s ability to double their customer base in less than four years, according to an Oct. 19 release published on AT&T’s website.

According to AT&T, consumer broadband revenues in the third quarter were up almost 10 percent, driven in large part by AT&T Fiber’s 26.9 percent growth. The company’s third quarter report revealed the firm has recently added 296,000 customers to AT&T Fiber.

Mobility service revenues also posted their highest showing in AT&T’s history, according to the release. Mobility operating revenues were up almost 4 percent for the company in the third quarter, the company’s announcement said.

AT&T CEO John Stankey said the company’s investments in 5G and fiber connectivity have been fueling their growth.

“We’re gaining profitable customer relationships and becoming more efficient,” he said. “This is powering our strong business performance and gives us the confidence to raise our full-year free cash flow guidance.”

In the company’s third quarter report, AT&T also announced they’ve launched AT&T Internet Air, a fixed wireless residential service that is expected to be in over 30 locations by the end of the year.

“We are pleased that customers are choosing AT&T and staying with us over the long run as we connect and simplify their digital world,” Stankey said.

AT&T said their mid-band 5G spectrum now covers more than 190 million people and the company reported its on track to meet their goal of reaching 200 million by the end of the year.
