China Telecom released the financial results in 1H16 on August 23.
The company has achieved revenue of CNY 176.828 billion in the first half of 2016, a 7.2% increase over the same period in 2015. Increasing 5.6%, its service revenue brought CNY 155.222 billion year over year. It generated CNY 50.555 billion in EBITDA, marking a 0.4% decline over the prior year. The profit attributable to shareholders hit CNY 11.673 billion with a YoY growth of 6.3%.
China Telecom posted 9.04 million net mobile adds, taking its mobile user base to 207 million which includes 90.1 million 4G end users with 31.64 million adds compared with last year, while a 135% growth happened to the total mobile traffic.
Its fixed broadband subscribers reached 118 million with 4.94 million net adds, including 88.34 million FTTHusers increasing by 17.35 million. The average access bandwidth among fixed broadband subscribers reached 37Mbps.
Esurfing's IPTV notched 50.16 million subscribers totally with a net YoY increase of 9.78 million.
