HKT Teams with Megaport for Multi-cloud Service

2017-11-16 12:26:28

HKT has teamed up with Megaport to launch a new multi-cloud connectivity service for local customers.

The HKT SkyExchange Multi-Cloud FAST Connect service offers direct access to a network of cloud service providers from HKT's networked facilities management centers in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories.

The service provides both secure and dedicated infrastructure, Megaport's hybrid cloud and multi-cloud capabilities.

HKT head of China commercial and CPE business Larry Wong said agility is key to cloud-connectivity in Asia-Pacific, and businesses require superior performance to link with national and international locations.

“With a growing demand for cloud connectivity in Hong Kong, Megaport is a perfect enabler of interconnection to cloud service providers, offering agile and flexible options to optimize customers’ cloud adoption,” he said.

Megaport has recently increased service availability in Hong Kong from four to nine locations, and plans to use the partnership to further its network in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Australian-based network as a service provider launched connection services to Google's cloud platform in early 2015, and also has connectivity agreements with Alibaba Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud and a network of smaller providers.
