Recently, during the holding of HUAWEI CONNECT 2017, APOLAN (Association of Passive Optical LAN) Asia Pacific Sub-committee committing to the industrial development and global application of POL (Passive Optical LAN) was officially established. Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company (hereinafter referred to as "YOFC", stock code: 6869.HK), as one of the founding members, was present at the launch ceremony.
YOFC--Forerunner of POL Scheme in Domestic Application
In recent years,YOFC，based on the unique understanding to all optical network, by relying on leading micro production process and centering on all optical industrial chain built around all optical network, has take the lead in applying POL (Passive Optical LAN) scheme at home. Meanwhile, it has put forward FTTD industrial park construction scheme and achieved success in the subsequent practical implementation cases such as YOFC Qianjiang Science and Technology Park FTTD Industrial Zone, Zhejiang Ally First Optical Fibre FTTD Industrial Zone, Shenzhen Wave Group Headquarters FTTD Industrial Zone and other projects.
What is POL?
POL, namely Passive Optical LAN, is to base on PON (Passive Optical Network)/10G PON, rely on ODN (Optical Distribution Network) and replace the network cable in conventional LAN with optical fibre for achieving enterprise LAN solution from optical fibre to terminal distribution network.The scheme can provide multiple network experience involving larger bandwidth, low latency, multi-business fusion bearing and higher-level network security etc., assist enterprises to reduce their engineering investment, subsequent operation, repair and operating cost, help customers to achieve refined operation.

Founded in USA, APOLAN is a non-profit organization committing to pushing on POL's industrial development and global application. For the purpose to better promote the development of POL industry, popularize and spread the knowledge related to POL, under the joint efforts of HUAWEI, YOFC, 3M and IBM etc., APOLAN Asia Pacific Sub-committee has been officially founded. Next, APOLAN Asia Pacific Sub-committee will carry out introduction, dissemination and training of POL industry among various vertical sectors, push on POL's cooperation in different areas, enhance the cooperation among members of the sub-committee and provide POL solutions for customers in various sectors.
It can be seen from POL's current development, an era of all optical fibre in enterprise LAN has come. From now on, APOLAN Asia Pacific Sub-committee will endeavor to push on the development of POL industry in the Asia-Pacific region. YOFC, as the largest supplier of optical cable, optical fibre and optical cable globally, it will also continue to make continuous efforts for Chinese smart industrial park and contribute their efforts for promoting the enterprise parks in the Asia-Pacific region to be fibre-based and digital rapidly.
