Following the inspection of Jiang Chaoliang, secretary-general of CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and his entourage on May 16, Wang Xiaodong, deputy secretary-general of CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and governor of HubeiProvincial Government visited and investigated YOFC Qianjiang Science & Technology Park. Zhang Mu, honorary vice president of Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Co., Ltd. He pointed out that development is of overriding importance and industry is a strong support. Description on circulation-based development of YOFC Qianjiang Science & Technology Park
Silicon Tetrachloride Project of YOFC Qianjiang Science & Technology Park adopts the process route ofsynthesizing the raw material of quartz sand (silicon dioxide powder), which needs to consume a large amount of chlorine; during the making of optical fibre preform, a great number of silicon tetrachloride, hydrogen and sodium hydroxide are consumed for generating by-products such as silicone dioxide powder, dilute hydrochloric acid and dilute brine; the general plant of salinization produces chlorine, hydrogen, sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid and consumes brine. The by-products generated during the making of optical fibre preform can be used as raw materials for production of silicon tetrachloride and saline-alkaline. The product of the general plant of salinization is used as raw material of silicon tetrachloride and optical fibre preform. A closed-loop process route from quartz sand to optical fibre preform (the main component of both is silicone dioxide), with the products in the park complementing to each other based on "zero emission", the products of the upstream and downstream enterprises supporting to one another, achieving a circular economy genuinely.
