Furthering into Southeast Asia Markets and Accelerating to Expand Internationalization Layout

 On May 23th, CommunicAsia2017 held its grand opening at the scenic Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Hengtong Group showcased its cutting-edge products and technologies, such as CAT5 and CAT6 optical fiber cable, quantum teleportation technological products, marine fiber sea trial solutions, FTTH synthetic wiring solutions and so on. Hengtong became one of the most important highlights of the exhibition.

On the exhibition site, Tan huiliang, Chief operating officer of the international operations department of Hengtong, accepted the interview by journalists from Network Telecom. Tan mainly introduced Hengtong’s Southeast Asia market development, internationalization layout, breakthrough in the marine cable industry.

Furthering into Southeast Asia markets, paving the way of global distribution

Tan huiliang introduced that Hengtong has begun operating its overseas business from 2000, while Southeast Asia is one part of its earlier operation. The business has basically covered all countries in Southeast Asia, and increased year by year since 2006.

Southeast Asia is an important region of The Belt and Road Initiative and is strategically placed in Hengtong’s internationalization layout. Looking forward, Hengtong will deep into Southeast Asia markets, and combine the Hengtong brand and Voksel brand to promote regional operation. Voksel is Indonesia's leading cable manufacturer and one of the main national grid and telecom providers, as well as competitive in Indonesia’s public engineering field. Such combination of giants and complementary advantages provides a solid foundation for Hengtong to expand of Southeast Asia markets. Tan huiliang told journalists that, Hengtong has doubled its revenues in energy and products output.

Practicing The Belt and Road Strategy, accelerating the expansion of international landscape

Countries alongside The Belt and Road Strategy have become the bridgehead for Hengtong, which are crucial to its implementation of international strategy. In keeping up with the ‘going out’ strategy, Hengtong puts forward the slogan ‘expanding business markets by targeting to the world map, and going out with support of The Belt and Road Initiative ’ in the internationalization process.

Talking about Hengtong’s prospering offshore markets, Tan huiliang said that if an enterprise desires to be bigger and stronger, it must participate in the global high-end market competition and global technology certification. Based on the talent, brand and culture output in the progress of ‘going out’, Hengtong has formed a unique development model and yielded great achievements. Hengtong has begun its comprehensive layout in countries alongside The Belt and Road Initiative from as early as 2013, and so far it has not only completed 20 sales networks, but also achieved trade coverage of 59%. In addition, Hengtong actively participates in communication and power infrastructure, and drives its industry achievement going out. As the main supplier in the area of optical fiber communication and power transmission for countries alongside The Belt and Road Initiative, Hengtong has received product certification from multiple countries and regions, and is awarded as the excellent supplier by many overseas customers.

So far, Hengtong has established six overseas industrial bases and made breakthrough in overseas investment. Though it has gained a leading position in China and even in the world in communication field, Hengtong never stops its internationalization strategy. Under the ground of economic globalization and The Belt and Road Strategy, Hengtong will continue to accelerate the upgrading of industrial structure and transformation of the multinational operation mode, create knock-out products with core intellectual property, and unswervingly pursue the ‘going out’ strategy, aiming to create broader market and more influential brand in the world.

Tan huiliang said that adhere to the development concept of openness, inclusiveness and win-win cooperation, Hengtong will spare no effort to in communications and power infrastructure construction for countries alongside The Belt and Road Strategy, and accelerate the building of international company. Firstly, Hengtong will unswervingly promote existing projects and strengthen the research and development ability on the basis of its core competitive products, and then innovate new products and bring Chinese technology and standards towards the world. Secondly, Hengtong will improve overseas management mode on the basis of multinational management and merger, aiming to achieve multi-dimensional perfection of marketing, research and talent cultivation, and build the acquisition companies as well as overseas research bases into the gate towards global markets. Thirdly, Hengtong will exert regional advantages of its offshore companies and perfect marketing strategy of its covered region to achieve the substantial growth of overseas acquisitions. Last, Hengtong will actively fulfill social responsibilities to repay the local government and people by taxation, employment, environmental protection, public welfare and charity, and get their support and trust.

Breaking the barrier of marine fiber market, opening the door to international market

Hengtong Marine Cable system, one subsidiary corporation of Hengtong Group, has recently succeeded submarine optical fiber cable sea trial of 5000 meters. It’s the first time that domestic undersea cable manufacturing enterprises conduct submarine optical fiber cable sea trial successfully.

Tan huiliang introduced that undersea cable is categorized as high-end product in international markets, and its technical threshold is very high. Hengtong Marine Cable system used its self-developed marine optical fiber of ultra-low loss and high rigidity, which enhanced international influence of Hengtong’s optical fibre and cable products, and showed the world the power of ‘Made in China’.

It’s reported that 95% of international communication relies on the undersea cable, which has a longer life cycle and carries more communication traffic than satellite communications. Undersea cable industry is of high cost and high risk, high construction and maintenance costs, and extremely strict requirements of product quality. At present, there are only four domestic undersea cable manufacturing enterprises, which manifests that the technical requirement is so high. Undersea cable producing factory of Hengtong locates in Changshu, owns wharf which can carry ten thousand tons and abyssal region, which provide strong conditions for undersea cable produce, research and development as well as sea trial. This successful sea trial break the monopoly of foreign submarine cable industry, marks that Hengtong gets the passport towards international markets and bring ‘made in China’ submarine cable into the stage of global market.
