YOFC Won the Outstanding Supplier Award for Sri Lanka Telecom’s I-srilanka Project

Recently, Sri Lanka Telecom held the I-srilanka Project Completion Celebration in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. YOFC (Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company) won the Outstanding Supplier Award for Sri Lanka Telecom’s I-srilanka Project.
 
Since its establishment more than 20 years ago, YOFC has been focusing on the optical fiber and cable industry and pursuing excellence in its core optical fiber and cable products. It thus has got certified and favored by the world's top ten telecom operators and occupied an important position in the highly competitive international market. YOFC has been occupying more than 60% of Sri Lanka’s market share with its high-quality optical cable products for seven consecutive years and has become Sri Lanka's largest telecommunications cable supplier.

 
Sri Lanka Telecom is the national telecommunications operator of Sri Lanka. As early as in 2005, Sri Lanka Telecom began to upgrade their legacy networks to the next-generation networks (NGN). In 2011, in order to accelerate the upgrading and development of the project, Sri Lanka Telecom launched the I-srilanka Project, which aims to make people in Sri Lanka able to enjoy the international standard high-speed uninterrupted internet access services, and to ensure that 90% of users in Sri Lanka can experience the unprecedented 20M broadband network services. After nearly four years of development and investment, there are 4500 newly increased network access points in Sri Lanka. In December 2015, it announced the completion of all stages of the I-srilanka Project.
