Recently, our company receieved the feedback from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP). There are several larger attenuations of OPGW project in the Philippines DAVAO islands. Producing and living communication between residents is affected. We immediately decided to send technicians to assist in the investigation.
On March 11, Tengcang technician Zhu Yuping and the director in the Philippines office, Sheng Xuedong, came to DAVAO Island for testing in related base stations with larger attenuation. After testing, we found that each larger attenuation pipe optical fiber is concentrated on the 7.1km, 9.6km, 53km, etc. These points were located in the tower stands which had connector boxes. Our technician Zhu Yuping immediately said optical fiber welding had problems. To confirm our judgment, we decided to go to tower stands to drop off connector boxes. After welding test, we found that fiber optic larger attenuation disappeared. Returned to a base station for verification, we found attenuation of welding optical fiber is normal. But larger attenuation of optical fiber without welding continued to exist.
"The reason of larger attenuation is welding quality was not in place by construction side. The solution is to have larger attenuation points welded, and welding must be synchronous real-time monitored in the base station until the weld installed!" Our technicians’ pinpoint professional answer satisfied NGCP engineer and the contractor. They praised our technicians for professional, dedicated spirit at 36 degrees for 6 hours!
Effectively helping the Philippines national grid NGCP find out the reasons and giving solutions, dismissed NGCP for our products quality and set up more trust of the customer relationship. On the other hand, it maintained our professional dedication, service brand image.
