From July 17 to 19, the three-day 2026 National "Optics & Ocean" High-Level Academic Conference was held in Wujiang, Suzhou. Attendees included Academician Yao Jianquan of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician Fan Dianyuan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chief Scientist of Jiangsu Hengtong Huahai Technology Co., Ltd., Academician Sun Song of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences and Dean of the College of Marine Sciences at the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Hao Qun—Chair of the Optoelectronic Technology Committee of the Chinese Optical Society and President of Changchun University of Science and Technology, Wujiang District Party Secretary Sun Daoxun and Deputy District Governor Zhang Yan, and Hengtong Group Board Chairman Cui Genliang.

It is noted that the National "Optics & Ocean" High-Level Academic Conference has been held for nine consecutive sessions in locations including Qinhuangdao, Weihai, Zhongshan, and Wujiang, building a strong and influential industry brand. Compared with previous editions, this year's conference brought together even more comprehensive and authoritative think‑tank resources, featuring six thematic tracks centered around "marine monitoring, marine resource development, and deep‑sea integrated communication and sensing technologies." The event attracted more than 100 experts and scholars from research institutes and universities such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tianjin University, Northeastern University, Jilin University, Zhejiang University, Changchun University of Science and Technology, Ocean University of China, and Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), providing a holistic focus on new pathways for the interdisciplinary development of optics and marine sciences.

During the conference, over 40 experts and scholars from the fields of marine science and optics delivered presentations. Yao Jianquan shared unique insights on the three‑dimensional application of deep‑sea resources by integrating multiple detection methods in his report "New Thoughts on Cross‑Boundary Communication via Laser‑Induced Acoustics and Marine Mining Technologies." Sun Song analyzed the development path and future prospects of marine observation research in his presentation "Paradigm Shifts in Methods and Technologies for Marine Ecosystem Health Assessment." Hao Qun focused on "Reconfigurable High‑Stability Spectral Imaging Technologies and Systems," offering new ideas for the combined application of optical imaging devices and marine exploration.
