FiberHome Leads Mongolian Government to Railway New Era

2020-12-31 16:22:42

When talking about Mongolia, what will come up in your mind? The vast territory with rich natural resource and sparse population. Due to this special condition, transportation has become more and more important for Mongolians. What’s more, as a landlocked country, Mongolia has increasing dependence for foreign-trade, thus rail and road networks is particularly important. Nevertheless, the road network, in Mongolia and its neighbouring countries, failed to meet the requirement in coal transportation from the Tavan Tolgoi to the border with China. Therefore, the Mongolian government decided to build the Tavan Tolgoi – Gashuun Sukhait (TT-GS) Railway Line, a special railway line for coal mine.

At the beginning of 2019, FiberHome started to undertake the communication system in this project. Slow capacity, access difficulty, and business incompatibility are the major sticking points.

As an industrial-underdeveloped country, infrastructure of railway in Mongolia has not been updated for several decades, and the traditional signal systems relied too much on trackside signal equipment, which was costly and difficult to maintain, limited the capacity of trains. Secondly, the aging circuit and copper cables lacked repair for a long time, so there was no network coverage along the interval railway, what’s more, the interval talking column only supported voice and low-rate services. Thirdly, the new IP interfaces was not compatible with old trackside equipment services and interfaces, and the transmissions, distributing communication pipelines by business, led to low network utilization.

After customer requirement investigation, FiberHome customizes smart railway solution for Mongolian government. First, improving communication infrastructure with new equipment, providing subsequent installation and commissioning services, and then sets up a smart cloud platform, which can effectively adapt to the fluctuation in railway business, improve resource utilization, and deploy business system rapidly, achieving on-demand investment and utilization. This end-to-end system guarantees reliable load on the signal system and boosts transportation capacity. And the soft and hard pipeline of MSTP(Multi Service Transfer Platform) used in the trackside provides 7/24-hour multi service, efficiently improving the carry capacity of different business systems,

Secondly, build interval broadband access with European professional organization certification, which is compatible with multiple interfaces, and adapt to relevant industrial standards. By full coverage and unified access, massive user data processing and big data analysis of applications could be achieved, and it is easy to expand, solving the problem of insufficient resources during peak time.

“In the future, railway is going to be an important carrier in the Belt and Road initiative. We expect our efforts will further benefit this great work.” One of a technician in the project said. Right now, the delivery of this project is going to be finished by 2022, this is going to make an important step for FiberHome in railway industry overseas.
