Smart Campus Broaden Your Future

2020-11-20 09:59:37

With the rapid development and in-depth application of information technology such as IoT, mobile Internet, and cloud computing, the new normal addresses challenges to building, operation, and management of campuses. In this context, Smart campus solution combining new ideas and technologies has emerged.

Traditional campus pay more attention to investment than actual results

In recent years, various campuses have made great contributions to industrial development and is providing a steady stream of power. However, some problems will inevitably arise in the development process, so what are the problems in the construction of the traditional campus?

•Lack of intelligent management

Many traditional campuses are still using manual methods to process their data even though those methods cannot meet the development trend. In the traditional campus, from camera data to more environmental, logistics, vehicle, and people flow data, they are all collected and output in isolation, unable to make active judgments and overall judgments, and there is no AI brain for unified data processing and active services. There is no real intelligence.

•Insufficient network carrying capacity

The campus network is the key to achieving fast and stable connections. However, with the rise of data-intensive applications such as VR and high-definition video, and the emergence of intelligent applications such as face recognition system. In particular, the evolution of data centers and the acceleration of enterprise cloudification may still far exceed the carrying capacity of traditional campus networks. Many campus networks are often designed and constructed by the basic demand, lacking agility and unable to quickly achieve network transformation.

Intelligent infrastructure, more efficient management

We found that under the new economic normal, traditional campus management methods cannot satisfy and attract enterprises in the Internet+ era due to the small communication capacity and low degree of automation. So how should the digitalization of the campus be planned in the future? Let's take a look at how the Campus of the FieberHome was built and what benefits it brought us.

•Smart Street Light

FiberHome has deployed some unique lights in its headquarter in Wuhan. These are FitPole, a multifunctional pole used to provide 5G communications, Smart Parking, Smart Lighting, Smart Policing, Smart Energy, information release, network broadcasting, wireless WIFI, and other services to meet the needs of personalized smart services in different scenarios of smart campus construction. Through the unified management of the Filink platform (Filink infrastructure unified IoT management platform), with its efficient and stable connection, full life cycle equipment, and personnel management, the campus can provides various innovative IoT applications.

•Smart Energy System

FiberHome Smart Campus can be based on the campus’s population, environment, weather forecast, combined with the characteristics and trends of energy use in each region, and load forecasting of dynamic people flow. Improve the overall energy efficiency level of the energy system through the integration of systems and equipment on the energy supply side and the energy-consuming side. In public areas such Parking lots, intelligent infrared sensor light automatically control the brightness of the lighting according to the approach of people/cars. When unmanned/cars use energy-saving mode, it can be automatically controlled by time. Through smart energy efficiency monitoring and energy-saving management, FiberHome Campus reduces energy loss during dynamic adjustment and transmission, saves manpower and material resources for operation and management to a certain extent, and improves energy efficiency and economy.

•Better network

FiberHome’s campus adopts the core architecture of 10 Gigabit networks (Gigabit access, 10 Gigabit convergence), access to the convergence layer to complete all-optical coverage, to achieve one network, to meet the broadband on different business requirements. Besides, the system also uses an OLT equipped with ONU two-layer flat network, which is safe and stable, easy to deploy, and convenient for daily operation and maintenance management. The system is green and energy-saving and has a low environmental impact. It is suitable for FTTB, FTTO and other types of scenarios to meet the future requirements of large bandwidth and multi-service evolution.

To ensure the stable operation of the network, FiberHome has also developed a more comprehensive and efficient automated tool—PTN/IPRAN maintenance tool V2R2. This improves the quality and efficiency of campus network operation and maintenance and builds a new intelligent operation and maintenance experience.

Meet a smart and better future

Smart Campus Solutions aim to help our customers improve the management efficiency, reduce operating costs, improve the work experience. FiberHome will also give full play to its technological advantages, continuously optimize solutions, and help customers to build a smart future.
