FiberHome: Quantum Leap in the International Standardization of Intelligent Manufacturing

Oct 19 – 23, ITU-T SG20 2015 approved the “Baseline text of new work item on the Overview of Smart Manufacturing in the context of Industrial Internet of Things”, a recommendation mainly edited by Li Keng, FiberHome Technologies. The recommendation integrated wide opinions from many research institutions, such as those of China Telecom, China Unicom, Telecom Italia and ETRI Korea. It suggests that the standardization research on intelligent manufacturing needs commencing in one year, including those on terminology, features, advanced requirements, referential models, practical cases, etc.

 

In total, 4 standard recommendations were edited and proposed by FiberHome Technologies at ITU-T SG20. Furthermore, 8 technical reports and articles in the Smart City focus group were taken into consideration in ITU-T Y. ITU-T SG20 is a new special research group, mainly focused on the IoT and Smart City. Sang Ziqin, from FiberHome Technologies serves as its vice president.

 

At SG 5, in the meanwhile, FiberHome, together with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and Italy, put forward a new project to formulate an index in the United Union to evaluate the performance of Smart City . 7 technical reports and articles in the Smart City focus group in the charge of Sang Ziqin were agreed by ITU-T L series for recommendation and complementation. FiberHome was also responsible for the proposal of 3 KPI standards, L.1600, L.1601 and L.1602, which all come to the final stage of examination.

 

Starting with Yu Shaohua’s X.85, X.86 and X.87, FiberHome Technologies has been dedicated to the drafting and editing of ITU standards and projects, the passed number of which at SG 20 and SG 5 has come to an unprecedented level.
