July 8, 2016, Wuhan, 8 Accelink employees died in an accident caused by heavy rain. The whole optics valley has to stop working this Monday. Even today, it is not easy to go to office for many optics valley employees.

Since the 2nd half of June, intense downpours and hailstorms have caused havoc across several Southern Chinese provinces, resulting in casualties, disrupted traffic and inundation.

In the morning of July 2nd, about 7:40AM, 8 Accelink employees were buried under a collapsed wall on their way to work, no one survived. All of them are under 30, the youngest one even is only 18 old. Accelink has organized a team to handle this.

Water level of Tangxunhu Lake close to Accelink and many other fiber optics companies has passed the highest point of past 20 years since July 2nd. Water has come out of bank in many places, many roads, buildings in the optics valley is swamped. Brown filthy water submerged nearly the whole optics valley. Because public transport system has stopped, and no electricity is common, many companies choose to let their employees stay at home. This situation only improves after Wednesday.
