Mr. Zhuang Dan, Executive Director and President of YOFC, Acting as a Torch Bearer in the 7th CISM Military World Games Torch Relay

On October 16, 2019, the 7th CISM Military World Games Torch Relay was held in the greenway of the East Lake in Wuhan, China. One hundred torch bearers from local organizations, military units and foreign countries jointly completed the torch relay in Wuhan. Mr. Zhuang Dan, Executive Director and President of Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company (YOFC) (Stock Code: 601869.SH, 06869.HK) acted as the 56th torch bearer in the torch relay event.

When talking about the experience in the torch relay event, Mr. Zhuang said, "'Glory Hubei'. As a global leader in the optical fibre industry, YOFC always takes advantage of strength to compete and seek for win-win cooperation, which complies with the 'Sharing Friendship, Building Peace' theme of the Military Games." He added, "On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, as a torch bearer of the Military Games, I marched along the great and beautiful East Lake, feeling an upsurge of emotion. The torch relay marks the holy fire of peace and the hope of igniting dreams. I wish the Military Games a great success, Wuhan becoming better and better, and Hubei enjoying more brilliant 'cores'!"

The 7th CISM Military World Games, "Wuhan Military Games" for short, will be held in Wuhan, China from October 18th to 27th, 2019. The Wuhan Military Games will witness about 10,000 soldiers in active service from 110 countries to compete on the same stage. It will be the largest event in the history of the CISM Military World Games, with the largest number of contestants and the most extensive influence. It is the first comprehensive and international military games held in China. It is also the largest international sports event held in China after the Beijing Olympic Games.
