China Railway Second Bureau Group Electric Power Engineering Co., Ltd. and FiberHome joined hand in improving the communication signals in mountain area.
Recently, FiberHome won the leakage cable project of the Jiaozuo-Liuzhou Railway, and joined hand with China Railway Second Bureau Group Electric Power Engineering Co., Ltd. on solving the problem of poor mobile signal in the tunnel of Jiaozuo-Liuzhou Railway Line and some mountainous areas, which also reduced the communication construction cost sharply.
As a Level I National passenger&cargo line, Jiao-Liu Railway connects Jiaozhou and Liuzhou, paralleling with Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, occupies the second important railway line running through from the north to south of China. There are many mountains and tunnels in the southwest of the line, and the weather is humid. The mobile communication signals in the tunnels and some mountain areas are blocked or even missed, which cause inconvenience to passengers. At the time when the whole national communication industry is embracing the 5G era, how to reduce or even eliminate the communication defects generated during the long route, is one of the important directions for the China Railway to optimize the passengers’ experiences, ensuring and improving the people's wellbeing.
Leakage cable is a kind of coaxial cable, which has both signal transmission and antenna function. By regularly trepanning on the surface of external conductor, leakage cable radiates and receives the controlled electromagnetic signals evenly along the distribution line to realize the coverage of electromagnetic field blind area. Particularly, it is suitable for the wireless signal coverage in corridor, such as subway, railway, underground garage, tunnel, mine and etc., ensures the flow of mobile communication signals smoothly. In addition, it reduced the antennas independent constructions which greatly decreased the overall construction cost of the owners.
The overall goal of the NDRC on “THE MEDIUM-TERM and LONG-TERM RAILWAY NETWORK PLAN”is that the total length of the railway network will reach 150000 km by 2020, covering more than 80% of the cities. By 2025, it shall reach 175000 km, including 38000 km high-speed railway. During the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period, the focus will be on speeding up the construction of high-speed railway network and the construction of railways in the central and western regions. There will be 35 large-scale high-speed railway projects to be started, with a total investment beyond RMB 140 billion, of which the total demand for leaky cable products will reach 10 billions.
