FiberHome OXC Won "Outstanding Technology Innovation Award of Optical Communications"

In late September 2018, at the China Optical Summit Forum held in Beijing, FiberHome OXC equipment won the "Outstanding Technology Innovation Award of Optical Communications". Han Rui, director of FiberHome's OTN product line, received the award as the representative, and gave a speech on the theme of "New Generation of Intelligent High-Speed Optical Network". He introduced a number of optical network frontier technologies and applications including OXC, and FiberHome OXC equipment was shown on the spot.

 

Nowadays, ROADM technology is very hot in the field of optical transmission, and OXC is a further evolution of ROADM technology, which can provide larger cross-connect capacity, more direction, less space in the machine room, more reliable connection and more convenient operation and maintenance. OXC uses the all-optical backplane to transform the fiber between the WSS boards in the traditional ROADM network into a direct connection between the board and the backplane, thereby greatly reducing the number of fibers and the amount of opening and maintenance, avoiding the mistake of artificial fiber connection. These characteristics of OXC make it suitable for network sites with lots of directions, and OXC have greater advantages over ROADM. In the current interprovincial trunk lines and large local networks, more and more optical cross-connect technologies are used, and the optical direction of the stations is surging, OXC has a very positive effect on the construction of large-scale optical networks.

 

Han Rui said: "FiberHome has been committed to the investment and layout of the optical network frontier technology. As early as 2017, FiberHome released the prototype of OXC, and continued to optimize the technology and transform it into commercial use. FiberHome OXC supports single wavelength 100G and beyond 100G system, can be extended from the C band to the C+L band, and support up to 40 directions, so that the cross-connect capacity of the node can be greatly improved to 2560T, which is sufficient for the optical network at least 5 to 8 years. Optical backplane is an innovation of OXC and its reliability is critical. FiberHome uses four-stage precision positioning technology to ensure high-precision butt joints with a tolerance of micron. At the same time, through the wavelength label, real-time monitoring of fiber parameters and wavelength signals can be realized to achieve optical layer visualization OAM. Based on the above characteristics and technology, FiberHome OXC can achieve ultra-large capacity, high reliability, manageable and controllable solutions, and it is an perfect choice for core nodes in large-scale networks in the future. ”

 

Facing to new applications such as 5G, 4K, AR/VR, and high-value private lines, communication networks need to be upgraded and innovated in multiple dimensions, such as large capacity and high integration, humanity, easy maintenance, high reliability and good user perception. OXC is one of the answers provided by FiberHome to these problems in the field of optical transmission, which fully reflects these characteristics.
