[Abstract]Jiangsu Hengtong Optic-Electric Co., Ltd. formally signed the contract for the engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance of high voltage submarine cables for offshore floating wind power in Portugal, a historic milestone for Chinese enterprises in high-end markets of advanced telecommunications regions, making contribution to rapid development of offshore wind power industry in China.
In the afternoon of June 25 local time in Lisbon (early morning Beijing time on June 26), Jiangsu Hengtong Optic-Electric Co., Ltd. formally signed the contract for the engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance of high voltage submarine cables (EPC +M) for offshore floating wind power in Portugal.
It is learned that, it is the first time a Chinese international engineering contracting enterprise has signed a general submarine cable contracting project in Western Europe. It is also China's largest order for high-voltage submarine cable manufacturers in the high-end market in Europe and the United States, a historic breakthrough was made.
As far as we know, the project is the first pre-commercial floating offshore wind power station to be built using WindFloat technology in the world, several advanced designs adopted. The project is an important initiative of Portugal in the field of new energy, attracting attention by Portugal's Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Marine, as well as Portugal's EDP and many other government departments and companies.
The successful bid and signing of the project indicates that Hengtong's submarine cable has successfully laid out the floating offshore wind power market, to further accumulate and master the development and investment experience of floating offshore wind power projects, to seize the preemptive opportunities in Europe and the world floating offshore wind power industry in near future, and to make contribution to the rapid development of offshore wind power industry in China.
