Vietnam's Viettel has joined the Next Generation Enterprise Network Alliance (ngena) to allow the operator to provide SD-WAN services for enterprise customers.
Viettel is targeting business customers in Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos with the service.
Doan Dai Phong, director of the Viettel International Business Center, said joining ngena will allow the operator to sell global VPN solutions to its enterprise customers.
“ngena has been our SD-WAN provider of choice as it enables us to provide globally, consistent services while maintaining full control over the customer experience,” he said.
“There is also a great potential for other ngena alliance partners to offer data connectivity services in the local markets, Viettel operates in, such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.”
ngena integrates its alliance partners' networks into a single global software defined network that is used to deliver end-to-end managed SD-WAN data connectivity services to enterprises.
The platform uses cloud and virtualization technologies from Cisco-Viptela via a strategic partnership.
The ngena alliance was first founded by India's Reliance Jio, South Korea's SK Telecom, the USA's CenturyLink and Germany's Deutsche Telekom. It has since expanded to 18 members, including Hong Kong's PCCW Global, Australia's Telstra, Singapore's StarHub, and now Viettel.
