Panasonic Launches New Toughpad Tablets, Aims for 70% Market Share

Consumer durable maker Panasonic launched three tablets that can be used in rugged and extreme conditions, priced between Rs 99,000 and Rs 1.2 lakh, excluding taxes.

 

Called Toughpad, Panasonic has launched three models - FZ – F1, FZ – N1 and FZ – A2 – in a segment where it is the market leader, and competes with Dell. The models are aimed at enterprises and governments, and are mostly used in extreme weather or environmental conditions.Panasonic Toughpad enjoys a 65% leadership in rugged notebooks and tablets with the introduction of the new products in the Toughbook and Toughpad series we aim to increase our market share to over 70%,” said Gunjan Sachdev, national business head, Toughbook and Toughpad Division.

 

 

The Android-powered Toughpad FZ-N1, will be launched with integrated barcode reader and with data and voice feature at a street price of Rs 99,000 plus taxes.The Windows 10 IoT mobile enterprise-powered Toughpad FZ-F1 will be launched with integrated barcode reader and with data and voice feature at a street price of Rs 1.09 lakh.The Toughpad FZ-A2, lightweight at 880g and 16.4mm slim, rugged tablet with a fanless design and runs the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with enterprise security from Android for work. This model will be available at a starting price of Rs 1.20 lakh.
