Coherent, one of the world's leading providers of optical technology, recently announced the launch of a new family of four-channel integrated circuits designed create faster and more efficient optical transceivers for cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and telecommunications networks. The new products, which are aimed primarily at next-generation high-speed modules, include:• Silicon Photonic Driver (CHR2075)• Coherent Optical Link ChipsetThe highlight of this family of integrated circuits the provision of excellent performance while consuming less power. All the chips integrate 10-bit monitoring ADCs and can be controlled via a standard 4-wire SPI interface.
Coherent's latest product launch is a pivotal step in its transition from "proprietary" to "open market" ASIC technology, positioning to capture the AI/cloud-driven upgrade cycle with its low-power high-performance combination. In the short term, sample feedback and mass production progress need to be observed while in the long term, it depends on its ecological integration capability during the 1.6T technology window. At present, samples of all new integrated circuits are already provided. The full-scale production of the CHR1094 and CHR2094 chipset is scheduled for November 2025, while theR2075 driver is planned for full-scale production in December 2025.
