Auckland, New Zealand - Nokia has today announced that TeamTalk will become a reseller partner of Nokia equipment, software and services. The companies will also work together on delivering solutions focusing on IP/MPLS-based critical and resilient communications services, emergency services, connected service vehicles, wireless technologies, private LTE and Internet of Things (IoT). TeamTalk will also use Nokia's IP/MPLS backhaul network solution for its new digital radio system.

TeamTalk, which has been operating in New Zealand for the past twenty years, is looking to transition from a pure network vendor into a critical and resilient communications service provider. The partnership with Nokia will allow TeamTalk to deliver emergency service vehicle edge, private LTE and IoT technologies to New Zealand.

Andrew Miller, Chief Executive Officer of TeamTalk, said: "Today, a substantial portion of the New Zealand market is not adequately covered by a mobile network, and this raises issues for emergency service responders. Our goal is to deploy a country-wide solution that will provide critical communications to the majority of New Zealand's emergency services. We found Nokia to have the right product set and partnerships to make this project a reality."

Stuart Mac Hendry, head of transportation, energy & public sector for Asia Pacific and Japan at Nokia, said: "Thanks to TeamTalk, this partnership will help us increase our presence in key vertical segments - starting with emergency services and soon extending to all networks requiring resilience such as transport, airports, ports and utilities. The depth and breadth of our technology expertise and significant presence in the New Zealand market were the determining factors for TeamTalk to partner with us."
