IWCS 2020 Virtual Symposium Registration Opens

2020-08-31 08:54:52

Annandale, VA (August 28, 2020) The IWCS 2020 International Cable & Connectivity Symposium has been re-imagined into a robust virtual event to reach attendees world-wide. The IWCS 2020 Virtual edition follows the same outline of the in-person conference and contains a strong program with 111 peer-reviewed technical papers in 17 Technical Sessions, 3 Executive Session presentations, an executive session Panel Discussion, a Plenary Keynote presentation, 4 Professional Development core courses, 2 Supplier Exhibition days and 20 new product presentations. The conference runs Monday through Friday, October 12-16, and October 19-23, 2020, from 8:00 am through 1:00 pm Eastern USA.  Registration is available now through IWCS.org.

In this year’s virtual event, all the elements of the traditional in-person conference are spread over a two-week period to present at times available to the most people in all regions of the world. This schedule enables attendees to be a part of all the sessions and to network actively with industry colleagues. “We believe this year’s program will reach a much wider audience, which supports our goal of providing an exciting and interactive platform for the discussion and sharing of innovations in critical cabling infrastructure on which the world depends, especially now during the COVID-19 pandemic,” stated David Kiddoo, IWCS CEO/Director. “Industry colleagues who ordinarily were not able to travel to the in-person conference will benefit from it being online,” he continued, “at a lower cost than the traditional conference and with no travel expenses.”

This year’s online conference provides prolonged visibility for both Technical Presentations and the Supplier Exhibition booths – an advantage to attendees, presenters, and exhibitors alike. Attendees can watch all presentations On-Demand and visit the Supplier Exhibition Booths even after the live conference is over, through November 27, 2020, increasing exposure to products and services for attendees and exhibitors. The Supplier Exhibition will have staffed booths live on the two dedicated days. On other days during the conference, the Exhibit Hall will be available for viewing and attendees can contact the companies by messaging through the conference platform. Attendees can register for the IWCS Supplier Exhibition-Only, free of charge.

During Week One, the Executive Session starts on Monday with presentations on the metallic and fiber optic markets and the global economic outlook, followed by a Panel Discussion with leading industry executives. At 11:00 am the Plenary Keynote address, Technology, Architecture and Supply Chain Needs to Drive Success in Our 2025+ Business, Use Case and Competitive Landscape Realities, will be given by Michael Beesley, VP/CTO of Cisco Systems, Mass-Scale Infrastructure Group.

Tuesday and Wednesday of Week One, October 13 and 14, are dedicated to Technical Sessions.

Thursday and Friday, October 15 and 16, include the four Professional Development Core Courses, the Supplier Exhibition, and the New Product Presentations.

Week 2, October 19-23, 2020, is dedicated fully to Technical Presentations.

In these difficult times, IWCS remains committed to ensuring the Cable and Connectivity Industry has access to the latest developments by the world’s leading suppliers. There are many Sponsor and Exhibitor package levels for companies to promote their products and service and express their support of this vital industry technical exchange. The virtual Supplier Exhibition provides new opportunities to companies who have not been able to participate previously in the in-person exhibitions. Options range from a standard booth that is excellent for brand awareness through booths with full attendee interactivity, video presentations, and other multi-media content. Booth availability is still open and interested companies should contact Doug Zirkle at dzirkle@bzsales.com. For more general conference information, view the website at IWCS.org.
